AfrikaBurn is South Africa’s regional Burning Man event and a week-long creative experiment rooted in radical participation and collaboration. Unlike typical music festivals, AfrikaBurn invites you to co-create every element of the experience: from massive art installations and themed camps to performances, fire rituals and mutant vehicles. Each year the event adopts a guiding theme — for 2026 it’s “Through The Prism,” encouraging participants to explore identity, connection and shared creation in the harsh beauty of the Tankwa Karoo. The event emphasises gifting, inclusion and collective responsibility, making it a transformative community experience rather than a spectator event.
